Over a forty year career in the coal industry, Lynn developed an immense respect for coal industry workers and their skills. He is blessed to be involved with Bit Source and watch these displaced workers establish a tech sector in Appalachia.

Rusty Justice


Rusty is an unapologetic hillbilly. He loves Jesus, his family, baseball, and all things Appalachia. He appreciates the opportunity to play a small part in establishing a rural tech company in the mountains.

A native Kentuckian from Elkhorn City, Justin began working in technology shortly after graduating from Pikeville College (now UPike) in 1997. Hall is excited about the opportunities surrounding Bit Source.

Adriana is an Industrial Engineer with eight years experience in the Coal Industry. She is highly skilled and can speak Spanish and English fluently. Adriana is a mother of two and loves spending time with her family.

William Stevens

Software Developer

Previously William worked as a Surface Miner in eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. He is 32-years-old and from Kimper, Kentucky. Stevens is married with three beautiful kids. He loves attending church.

Paul Gorman


With an education in drafting and design and a technical drawing background, Paul has been able to work in positions that allowed him to see the changes in the coal industry more directly.

Garland Couch

Software Developer

Born Sept, 1973 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, Garland, graduated from Whitesburg High in July 1991. He worked as a Lab Tech for nine years performing coal and soil analysis and worked in Maintenance Planning and Asset Management for twelve years.

James Johnson

Software Developer

He is the proud father of two sons, Neal and Noah, and has been married for 27 years to his wife, Donetta. He considers his employment with Bit Source as "just my third real job." Johnson, a recently ordained minister of the Baptist faith.

Brack Quillen

Software Developer

Brack has worked in the Mining Industry for the past ten years and was a member of an Underground Coal Mine Rescue Team. Brack is an avid comic book fan and he enjoys target shooting and lifting weights.

Shawn Hopkins

Software Developer

Pike County native Shawn Hopkins has worked in journalism, public relations, freelance writing, blogging, and social media management. He's looking forward to expanding his skillset and starting a new career at Bit Source.

Michael Harrison

Software Developer

A former underground coal miner who grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. Michael is a father of one daughter. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Electronic Networking from Eastern Kentucky University in 2003. Michael moved to eastern Kentucky in 2008 to work underground.

Jamie Adams

Software Developer

A Knott County, Kentucky native, Jamie just recently graduated from Hazard Community College with an Associate Degree in Network Administration. After getting laid off from the coal mines and graduating from college he began his employment at Bit Source.
